Year in Review - 2009

Fantastic! That is the word that best describes the ministry of Camp Allegheny in 2009. Our attendance in summer increased quite a bit with improved numbers in summer camp, a band camp and more day group usage. We were also able to make many facility improvements including remodeling the men's restroom in Hemlock lodge, landscaping, additional maintenance area for vehicles, overhead fans in the dining area and so much more.

We also were blessed with many new retreat groups. Some of these groups came from in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. area and were excited to find us. So much so that they immediately booked for 2010!

Most of all each of us that work here or volunteer here know of the love shared and the heartfelt moments of faith that touched our campers and guests.

I must end with a huge THANK YOU to our Volunteers and Donors. We have so many folks that share of their time, talents and treasure to make sure that this ministry continues to be a blessing to others. We truly would not exist without each of you.

Year in Preview - 2010

Anticipation! What will the Lord have in store for this ministry in 2010? I know not. I do know that we have some exciting plans that we have worked hard and prayed about for over a year now.

We have some exciting facility improvements including a new road side letterboard, remodeled restrooms in Cedar lodge, continued landscaping improvements, horse paddock area expansion, office remodeling to name just a few. We will also have numerous new hiking and horseback riding trails this year.

We also have some tremendous program improvements planned. New horses, new activities on the horse trail course, improved slip and slide, new low rope activity, a climbing wall for the pool to name a few. The “Camp Allegheny Christian Wrangler” program continues to improve every year. We have a new senior high adventure trip, lead by Kevin Milliken, to the New River Gorge area in West Virginia that is sure to be a hit.

I know that with all of the Celebrations and Challenges 2010 will be another banner year of ministry for Camp Allegheny!
